Germany’s choice of helmet for World War II was the Stahlhelm and its variants. It was introduced in 1916 and used by German forces throughout the war. The Stahlhelm was made of steel and had a coal scuttle shape. the German military also used other helmet designs, including the M15 helmet, which was similar to the Stahlhelm but had a slightly different shape, and the M16 helmet, which was made of fiberglass and had a more modern design.
