One of the most famous helmet designs from World War II is the Mk.II helmet, which was introduced in 1939 and used by British forces throughout the war. The Mk.II helmet was made of steel and had a distinctive dome-shaped design.
In addition to the Mk.II helmet, the British military also used other helmet designs, including the Mk.III helmet, which was similar to the Mk.II helmet but had a slightly different shape, and the Mk.IV helmet, which was made of fiberglass and had a more modern design. WWII helmets are traded every single day with a minimum of 10 bids, which means there are a great number of engaged buyers and sellers. You can expect to pay anywhere between $50 – $300 for a helmet based on condition & rarity.
If you are looking to buy a British helmet, you will have to join the bidding war. For example, on September 12, 2010, a WWII British helmet was sold for $267.88 with 24 bids. Take a look at the helmet on the right. It is not in great shape but still goes for a high price because of its rarity.
