
Finished helmet rims are placed on the hook on the operator’s right hand. The helmets were made in an Eastern plant converted by retooling from the production of automobile radiators.

The front visor of a steel army helmet is “spanked,” or formed into shape. The helmet had an oval shape before the operation.
